Our current medium term plans for the mathematics curriculum outlines too much content.  We would like quality mathematics teaching which allows our children to progress at a faster rate.

A target overview sheet has been written outlining the steps (targets) in our children’s learning.  This overview ranges from Reception Year through to Year 6.  This progressive set of targets will become our medium term plans/scheme of work.  It
will allow our children to have the mathematics they specifically need in order to improve.

Class teachers will look at each mathematics group and ensure that their teaching is matched to the children’s target levels.  This will allow our teaching to be more specific and allow us to teach what the children need next in order to improve.

We will continue to assess our children’s progress each term.  We will know current levels of attainment in the class and we will have access to information which outlines the next steps in our children’s learning.
