Year 5
During Year 5 the children begin to develop their independence in making choices about the activities they undertake and the way in which they present their work.
Year 5 pupils embark on peer mediation training, helping prepare them to assume responsibility for supporting the adults in dealing with minor playground issues.
This training ensures they provide support to other pupils with a sense of fairness and consideration. The curriculum covered in Year 5 begins to set the groundwork for much of the learning that the children will reinforce and embed in Year 6, their final primary year.
Children continue their swimming lessons building on Year 4 lessons in the Spring term.
