Year 6
In Year 6, the children further develop and embed skills they will need for a successful transition to secondary school.
A residential trip, at the beginning of the Autumn term, develops independence, perseverance and resilience.
In class, the curriculum is delivered to allow a broader choice in research and presentation of ideas. Year 6 children also take on the role of Peer Mediators – helping younger children to sort out minor problems at break times – which allows them to reflect on the effect of their own, and others’, behaviour.
We aim for children to leave Medmerry and begin secondary school as confident, considerate and well-rounded individuals.
