flu poster The Vaccination Session Date for this School is during the morning of Tuesday 20th November. The vaccination is offered for all children in the reception class, year 1, year 2, year 3, year 4 and year 5. Letters with further information have been sent out to families.

Some year 6 pupils made the most of the fine weather this week with a visit to West Wittering for a beach cricket tournament. After some exciting matches, we didn’t quite top the league, but it’s fair to say that a great time was had by all!
The children in Years 5 and 6 are studying the geography of our local area this term. Today they made the most of the fine weather and paid a visit to West Beach, where they could see evidence of tidal erosion, and also made some great sketches of the landscape.

As we ended the term, we had another handful of headteacher’s awards to share. This week’s included many examples of great art work, some excellent fiction writing, some children taking on extra challenges in maths and reading, and several examples of kindness to others. Well done all!

As we reach Easter weekend, the Friends of Medmerry kindly donated some Easter Eggs as prizes for our Easter Bonnet competition. We were overwhelmed with both the quantity and quality of what was brought in. Thank you to everyone who helped with their construction!
A smaller set of Headteacher’s Award winners this week as it’s a short week, but no less praiseworthy. Some excellent examples of writing about Ranulph Fiennes and expeditions in the infants, measurement work in juniors, and some great examples of striving for improvement. Well done all!
